Erik S. Young experiences life through the lens.

From early photojournalism work in the Armed Forces, through his professional photography today, Erik strives to ‘paint portraits with light’.

Erik began his professional photographic journey documenting life as experienced by his U.S. Army 13th Military Police Company. This service launched the passion that would forever occupy Erik’s creative drive. While he pursued other career paths for periods of time, photography was always the consistent background.

In 2005, Erik decided that his on-again, off-again ‘professional-hobby’ would be his focus professionally. Starting small, with friends and family, Erik began developing his creative style. With unbelievably valuable mentoring from one of Central Kentucky’s finest photographers, Bill Straus, Erik continues to refine his skills and grow as a professional photographer.
